On Saturday it seemed as though I had loads of time in SF now it’s our penultimate night here. But it’s been a good few days and I’ve even managed to fit in a couple of visits with bloggers!
On Monday I met up with the wonderful Claudia at ImagiKnit. I also met Claudia’s Mom who is just as lovely as her daughter and also a knitter. ImagiKnit is an incredible store and I wish we had one in Cardiff. This was my third visit there, I remember when they only occupied one store, and I still find it overwhelming. They seem to stock everything and more besides! As much as I love going to yarn stores I find it’s a far better experience if you have the company of incredible knitters. Claudia and her mom didn’t seem horrified at the amount of my purchases some of which didn’t count as I was acting as a personal shopper for Jeni…:-)
Tonight we had dinner with the fabulous Rachel at Cha Cha Cha where they serve excellent Tapas. It was a very good end to a day that started off with a long bus ride to the Legion of Honor to see the ArtWear exhibit. So good I bought the catalogue. It’s a bit of a dream of mine to create Wearable Art one day. I just need to get enough time to do it! 🙂
Following that we went to Japan Town, had lunch and took a visit to the bookstore in the Japan Centre where I bought the book to make this. I also picked up some erasers that look like ring donuts and some cute stationary. Oh and then we went to ImagiKnit again as I had forgotten to pick up some Cascade worsted and some Classic Elite La Grand mohair on Monday…
Sunday I went to Art Fibers and bought eight balls of Sherlock for a cardi and two balls of Fauve for a scarf. Picture to be added. I’m not sure what type of pattern to use for it just yet. Maybe the diagonal scarf?
Ooh! Oooh! You met Claudia and Rachael *and* you went to Artfibers! This sounds to me like the perfect holiday. I went to artfibers when I was in SF 5 years ago, and whenever I wear the garment I made with my purchases someone admires it.
Glad you’re having fun! I hope you are feeling okay, too.
It was such a pleasure to meet you. If I was still down in the City, I may have gone back for seconds at Imaginknit myself.
😉
